Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder, Depression And Drastic Weight Loss
I have bipolar 2 and I am doing very well because I finally got help from a psychiatrist. My depression would not be as strong as someone who has just depression. Over a year ago we had friends move a 2 hour drive as they were retired. They rented an Apartment and are close to Niargara Fall and the border of Canada and the U.S. We went to their place a few times and went over the border…went to ball games, casino s out for dinner…to make a long story short they liked Welland but they wanted a little bungalow…they bought one around April/14 and moved in in May/14. We only just saw them for the first time this week as we have been told by the male not to come. He has been suffering from depression…it has been well over a year so we figured we would not ask him just tell his wife who has had no life that we were coming and we will surprise them. We did so and now I am suffering with depression. This vibrant always a 3-5 k runner or biker had dropped some 60 lbs. and at 72 years of age looked light a pale drawn out 92 year old. He was upset we came but sat and talked and we even managed to get him to go out for dinner….I have told him that he needs to see a specialist no rely on hi doctor go to a pschyiatrist or get his doctor to refer him to one…I am surprised his doctor had not noticed and should see the drastic weight loss and tell him he needs better help. Please tell me what or how can we get this man to seek specialists help. On went online and Welland has a lot of Adult mental health programs which is what I was referred to…I am very scared for him if he keeps losing weight I am afraid he is going to die of a heart attack. I believe his wife should tell him she has had enough and that she was going to make the specialist appointment and go with him and if he says no than tell him she is moving out. We can pick her up and bring her to our house. It is a scare tactic but I think since they have been together for 48 years when he actually sees she is leaving maybe give him some time and it might prompt him to take that much needed step. Please help us help this man. Sandra Schofield
You can explain the same thing to a psychiatrist and ask him to pay a home visit if he can. Talk to his doctor in detail and ask him to persuade the man to going to a psychiatrist. Your idea of wife moving out is also good. You can call a therapist home and counsel him at home to go to a psychiatrist. If in person appointment is tough or he is not willing, you can have an online video appointment at home. There are so many ways to help him. Just think with a relaxed mind.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
