Suggest Treatment For Black Color Stool With Blood While Having Asthma

My father is 62 yrs old my father is suffering ailment in which black colour latrine is coming along with pieces of blood. My father is also suffering from asthma and he takes steroid frequenly. Kindly suggest me the solution with appropriate medication

Hi... Black colour stools indicate bleeding from upper gastrointestinal tract.
Steroids are known to cause gatric erosions and ulcers which might be the source of bleeding and indirectly cause black coloured stools. so i would recommend,
1. take a course of PPI's such as pantoprazole for a month.
2. meet a doctor and ask him to prescribe alternative to oral steroid (no harm in taking inhaled steroid)
3.if symptoms continue get a endoscopy/colonoscopy done
