Suggest Treatment For Black Dot On Iris With Red And Irritated Eye

Good evening, I have a black dot, on my iris that was discovered this evening. My eye is red and irritated. I did not do any metal work so it is not a metal shaving that I am aware of. Upon noticing it, I flushed my eye with copious water and tried lots of blinking. I live 1.5 hours from a hospital and it s not easy to get to. I used a cotton swap and got part of it out but the other part seems not to be budging. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I would advise you to visit the hospital and review with eye doctor because if it is a foreign body then it will damage the cornea. You may not be able to remove it on your own and its not worth taking the risk. In the meantime, I would advise you to pad your eye with Neosporin ointment and some bandage.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
