Hi! My dad has a black spot behind his ear, just where he has his glasses. This spot has a dark brownish colour, it s almost black. It looks like a gangrene. It doesn t itch or anything, he hasn t even noticed them, I saw them for the first time one hour ago. Do you know what this is? Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Since the spot is in an area where the glasses rest, then it is likely related to this. The glasses resting on the area for prolonged periods or repeatedly would cause mild trauma and scarring to the area.
Scarring would cause discoloration.
Gangrene does not usually occur in these area which have very good blood supply so this is not likely the cause.
