Suggest Treatment For Bladder Infection And Blood In Urine
there is blood in my urine..it began Saturday with the feeling of a bladder infection. I drank lots of cranberry juice to stop the infection, and it did make me feel better, but the blood is still in my urine. I do have kidney stones, but haven t had a problem with them so far. I am worried because I had a cancerous tumor removed from my breast this past july, and worry that it could be something bad.
Blood in urine is the indication of urinary tract infection only and there is nothing to worry about. Drinking cranberry juice and lots of fluid does help but only as an additional help, not for curing the infection.
You have to complete an antibiotic course to eliminate the infection from the body. You can take Levofloxacin (Levoflox) 500 mg once a day for 5 days. Keep drinking lots of fluid and have rest. The kidney stones do cause urinary tract infections more frequently. Removal of stones may cause reduction in frequency of urinary tract infections.
However, if you do not feel better in three days, you might have to go for culture test for urine.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you good health in future.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
