My mom is 79 years old and was recently being treated for a bladder infection with Cipro. She also a cold and cough. She just told me she s had coughing and had some dis colored reddish mucus. Today it was light grayish. Two days prior it had more red. We are wondering if we should call her doctor today Sunday or wait until tomorrow Monday?
Thanks for asking in healthcaremagic forum Some times a reddish tinge may be due to blood caused by coughing. And greyish/greenish mucous suggest infection. So, visit your doctor to get your infection treated. All the best. Mean while you can take cough syrup and gargle with salt water.
