Suggest Treatment For Bladder Infection

Have two medications given by my doctor when I thought I was coming down with a bladder infection. The symptoms passed so I never took them. Now I need to and am passing blood upon urination and need to know which to use. one is phenazopyridine 200 mg Qty 6. the other is nitrofurantoin mono/mac 100 mg Qty14. Please advise

The phenazopyridine is a urinary anesthetic and will ease the pain but will not treat the infection. The nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic that is commonly used for urinary tract infections.
