Suggest Treatment For Bleeding And Hearing Problem After Using Excess Of Q-tips
Heres my question. after showering this a.m. I used q-tips, which I always do, to get excess water out of my ears. this morning when I did this I felt like I went just a tat too far in. no severe pain just felt it. couple hours later at work, my ear started bleeding. now it is like it popped and I cant hear well.
Hello! I understand your query, it may be that you have accidentally damaged your tympanic membrane (ear drums). Or the popping sound you heard was from your Eustachian tube (fine tube that runs from the middle ear to the back of the throat/nose). The Eustachian tube opens and allows air to pass. This process equalizes the pressure in our ears and if there is s sticky mucous/fluid it is possible that you could hear it pop due to its opening and closing.
I suggest you consult an ENT specialist as it would need an otoscope(a medical instrument used to look into the ears) to rule out possible perforation of the tympanic membrane. You may be prescribed with proper antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications if there is an evident trauma.
A feedback is greatly appreciated.
Hope this helps! Thank you!
