Suggest Treatment For Bleeding From Birth Mark After Scratching

I was scratching the left side of my back while in the shower and accidentally cut a birthmark. It was hard to get a good look at it because of its placement, but I could see that the top layer had mostly come off. It started bleeding immediately. I thought it had slowed down so I put a band aid over it. It s been a few hours so I went to change the band aid and when I took it off it started bleeding again. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.
I read your query carefully.

-Pressure on the cut or scratch can stop the bleeding.
- Covering the wound with a bandage will keep it clean.
-And direct application of antibiotic ointment. (polyfax plus ointment. it has batericidal effects as well as analgesic).
-The bandage will also absorb any blood that remains as the wound heals. Before the bandage is applied, the wound should be cleaned with water .

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health.
