Suggest Treatment For Bleeding From The Eye Post Trauma

Hello. My wife was in a minor traffic accident last night, and the air bags deployed in the car, striking her in the face. She has experienced some minor trauma in her right eye with bleeding in the white, and some cloudiness in the iris area. Should we seek emergency treatment? There are no obvious lacerations of the eye visible. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The eye is the organ of the sense of sight. The bleeding you see might be insignificant to look at... may be merely due to inflammation of white part of eye... (when an intermittent pack of cold water soaked cloth, kept over eyelids would help). Still, I would suggest a check-up & needful specific advise by an ophthalmologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
