Suggest Treatment For Bleeding From The Genital After Injury?
My daughter had a straddle injury this evening when she attempted to get off of the trampoline. Her private landed on the metal ring or the spring of the trampoline. When I checked her out, her underwear had blood on them. The bleeding stopped pretty quickly and she was able get in the tub for bath (did not wash that area) but she just came and showed me that there is still a little blood. She hurt herself about 2.5hrs ago. Should I take her to the ER?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You have to take her to ER immediately. Bleeding from the genitals may be due to some urethral injury which has to be evaluated and treated early to avoid unwanted complications. Most often it might be minor abarasions and doesn’t require any treatment. However better to get evaluated for reassurance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
