Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son who is 31 says that when he sucks on his tooth that blood comes out. he doesn't have any pain. and this is occurring on each of his teeth. says there is not any cracked teeth . but like he thought he had a piece of food stuck , used his tongue to get it out and blood came out instead. says it seems its coming from his gums. what do you think it is?
As per your complain sucking out of blood from the gums and feeling of food struck in seems to be most probably due to severe gum infection and inflammation.. As inflamed tissues have abundance of premature blood vessels therefore, they tend to bleed even on slight stimulation like touch of the tongue.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician or a Periodontist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and in investigations like Panoromic x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. He can be advised deep scaling followed by curettage and a course of antibiotics like metronidazole and anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen... Doing gum paint massage, antiseptic mouthwash gargles and warm saline gargles can further be helpful.. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily as it improves gum health..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
