General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Bleeding in the navel area with associated pain needs to be examined first for what kind of bleeding and how it looks.

The most common cause of bleeding from the belly or navel area (umbilicus) is an infection of the skin in the umbilicus.

Like any other skin surface, the skin of the umbilicus can also become infected.

In fact, it is more likely to become infected as it is the moist and a good environment for bacteria or fungi to grow.

If there is swelling or redness of the skin in or around the belly button, then an infection is more likely.

Topical antibacterial or antifungal creams may be prescribed by your doctor or even medications can also be given in the tablet forms.

Occasionally, a small cyst or duct that extends into the abdominal wall from the belly button may be present but must be evaluated further.

Consult some local physician or dermatologist for complete examination and further treatment.

Regards,
