Suggest Treatment For Block On Right Side Of Iliac Artery
Hello Sir, My dad from trivandrum was advised by his doctor to consult a cardiovascualar surgeon his analysis ****************** There is a small segment of block on the right side Iliac artery. But the rest of the vessel is well filled. He is symptomatically better. I discussed the options with him. The options are: 1.Attempt angioplasty and stenting (after consultation with radiologist) 2.Continue medical management 3.Surgery ****************** please let me know if i could call you. Opening of a blocked artery depends on whether it is causing ischemia (signs of non-perfusion) or symptoms.
If the artery supplies a large part and that is suffering because of the blockage, it should be opened up.
As you said the rest of the vessel is filling by collateral, it means that the blockage is not causing a problem.
Detailed analysis can only be told after seeing the detailed report. So if possible please send me the report.
If their is collateral supplying and the area is not suffering ischemia, medical management is good enough otherwise angioplasty of that artery can be done.
