Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, A couple of weeks ago I had a very sudden and violent allergy attack. I took an antihistamine and it cleared up well. Since then, I ve noticed my sinuses appear blocked; I ve felt a blocked nose and ears (as well as hissing), sore throat, and a bad taste in my mouth. It has been rather persistent and I m sick of it. What course of action would you recommend please?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of blocked ears and nose which seems to be due to wax build up, fluid accumulation and could be Eustachian tube dysfunction.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Do warm saline gargles twice daily.
- Take steam inhalation and apply warm dry compresses to external ear.
- Take antibiotics along with anti inflammatory medications.
- Put otogesic ear drops. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection and start treatment as per that.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
