Hello,

The following are few probable causes of nose block:
1) Severe cold
2) Allergic rhinitis
3) Nasal polyp
4) Deviated nasal septum
5) Severe sinusitis
6) Enlarged adenoids or tonsils especially in children

Mouth breathing leads to the following complications:
1) Dry mouth
2) Bad breath
3) Sleep apnea
4) Drooling on the pillows
5) Excessive daytime sleepiness

You need to go to an ENT specialist for evaluation of the cause of nasal blockade and initiate the appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
