Suggest Treatment For Blood Blister On Sublingual Papilla
My 15 y/o son has what appears to be a blood blister on his sublingual papilla. It is very large, raised and meaty. What is the treatment for this? He is 5'9" & ~200lbs. He takes advair 2x daily and zyrtec for asthma. He also takes monodox daily.
A blood blister in oral cavity coul be due to bleeding disorders, decreased platelet count, trauma to oral cavity.A rare condition is angina bullosa haemorrhagica where acute onset of blood blister develops and gets spontaneously resolved within 24_48 hrs.Long term use of inhalational steroids have been implicated as a cause in such case.First ruleout bleeding disorders and decreased platelets.Any blood blister causing airway obstruction has to be incised. Also give chlorhexidine mouth washes to prevent infection
