Hello. I am trying to determine if I have a pinched nerve or some other issue like a bloodclot in my leg. I have pain in the back of my leg that begins a little above the knee. It goes down my calf and comes around the front beginning at my shin. It ends at my ankle with the most pain concentrated in my ankle. My leg is weak. I m 18 and don t have any medicall issues or diseases. I did began taking birth control pills 3 weeks ago.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

Yes, there is most likely possibility of formation of blood clot in veins (deep vein thrombosis, DVT) or nerve compression.

You need further evaluation for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

There is need for detailed clinical examination.

Possibility of DVT increases if there is swollen leg, changes in overlying skin color.
Lower limb venous doppler help in confirming the diagnosis.

Possibility of nerve compression can be evident after neurological examination.
Nerve conduction study may help in diagnosis.
MRI of lubosacral spine may required.

So it will be better for you to consult your doctor for detailed clinical examination and further evaluation.

Hope this helps you, if so do vote as helpful.
