Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my sister was diagnosed with a blood clot in her right leg she went to her Dr and then she was sent to get a doppler om her right leg, She was told to go home and precribed some lasics, and also told to wear stocking in the morning, she was concerned that what woud happen if the clot busted loose and traveled to her heart?
Yes, there is risk for blood clot to travel and clog blood vessels anywhere else in the body. Hope this won't be the case for your sister as long as she is following her doctor's advice.
She should be keep regular follow ups with her angiologist. Regular doppler ultrasound of the legs should be run as per angiologist advice.
Diosmin can help shrink the clogged veins. However, should consult with angiologist about the dosage and for how long to take it.
Wish fast recovery.
