Suggest Treatment For Blood Filled And Recurring Lump On The Shoulders
Hello, I have a bump on my right shoulder that comes and goes. When it comes it starts off as just a dot on the skin then grows and raises out from being flush with my arm. It doesnt grow that big - less than the width of an pencil eraser but after a while it starts to hurt. It is filled with blood and I have pricked it with a pin and had the blood drain out and the bump goes flush with my skin again. But after a while it fills back up. It will do this for a few weeks then just goes away. After several months it comes back.
Based on the history you have shared, it can be simple fat lumps or lipomas and sometimes may have blood vessel surrounding or compression symptoms on other associated structures however, ultrasound of lesion alongside fine needle aspiration cytology may be needed to see for exact nature of the swelling. Rarely hemangiomas may be present which may bleed as you experienced.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
