Suggest Treatment For Blurred Vision And Elevated Blood Sugar Levels

I took about 50-55mg prednisolone for a period of 3 weeks for bell s palsy. Afterward, I began to experience symptoms like blurred vision and elevated blood sugar. I am now on insulin to control the blood sugar level, but my vision is getting worse by the day. I have had two eye examinations within a week and was told that my eyes will get better. However, I would like to know what I can do to reverse these effects, because I have been off work for about 2 months now. PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, the elevation of blood sugar may lead to diabetic retinopathy or maculopathy which may lead to vision problems.

Please control blood sugar, use vitamin A and B12 injections with a regular fundoscopic examination. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
