Suggest Treatment For Blurred Vision And High Heart Rate In A Teenager
My daughter has been through a ton of stuff over the past 16 months. She is a 16 year old who plays competitive softball year round. Jan of 2016 she couldn t get air in while playing at an indoor softball camp. Syptoms progressed to inability to get air in when heart rate is around 165, dizziness, blurred vision and an ache in her chest during exertion. After months of doctor appointments she has had her heart cleared by a cardiologist. No asthma or exercise induced asthma. No acid reflux or lactose intolerance. Has been diagnosed with fructose malabsorption and vocal cord disfunction. Which do not explain dizziness, blurred vision & head ache. For the past 6 weeks she has been experiencing head aches and as of two weeks it is a head ache that never goes away. Twice during this period I have taken her to doctors and they do the basic neuro test for a concussion and say no and no need for a scan. Fairly certain she got a concussion on 3/20 while playing. Tell me she may be experiencing post concussion syndrome. I don t think a constant head ache from 4/17/17 until today is normal & there s been a couple days of severe pain; today being one of them. The two visits were to an ER & an urgent care. Advise please?

Hi, Consult a cardiologist and get evaluated. Serial ECG monitoring is required to rule out possibilities like cardiac arrhythmia. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
