Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bone spur on the back of my heel that is affecting my achiles tendon and causes pain when I walk. I went to a podiatrist and they prescribed physical therapy to stretch the muscle. It still hurts when I walk and has not improved. I am told that they can t remove the bone spur because it is all connected to the achiles tendon. I have been suffering with this for 4 months. Any suggestions?
Some suggestions that I may have are: Use cold compresses. Take over-the-counter pain medications such as Ibuprofen three tablets a day. Physical therapy exercises and stretching exercises. I recommend rest and using orthotic shoe inserts.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
