Suggest Treatment For Bowel Movement After Having Food
Hello, My daughter and niece have both had their gall bladders removed. Since that time they are showing symptoms of IBS. My daughbor seems to have to have a bowel movement soon after she eats, or her stomach cramps badly soon after eating. My niece eats, and immediately has to go to the bathroom. Could this be something that is hereditary?
Gall bladder removal may cause some problems with fat absorption in the bowel and result in diarrhea. This may be worse after eating due to the role of the gall fluids in digestion. I do not this in itself is not hereditary unless they both have certain food intolerances such as gluten intolerance and are showing related symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
