I have a hematoma in my left breast caused by a seat belt grab when there was an accident. It started out to be a goose egg size with bruising. Now, the bruising has gone away with just a few small spots that remain...the hematoma is now about robin egg size. The accident was 2 months ago. How long does it take to have a hematoma like this heal completely?
noted history of hematoma on the left breast secondary to trauma, decreasing in size but still not fully recoverd after 2 months time. it is best if you consult with a doctor, preferably a general surgeon, for physical examination and clinical evaluation. i recommend breast ultrasound for further investigation, even if decreased in swelling is observed, to further investigate the character of the lesion inside the breast. management (medical and/or surgical if indications are found) will be directed accordingly. lukewarm compress over the affected site may also help decrease the size of the hematoma formation.
hope this helps.
good day!!
