Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on synthroid for hypothyroidism. My symptoms of hypothyroidism before treatment included breast pain swollen glands in my breast and fatigue. Those symptoms are now gone but now I have an enlarged spleen and breast pain on that side. Please let me know what to do. My doctor is very slow and he is just a general practitioner. I don t even want to mention it to him because they never get anything done. Should I go to a walk in clinic or the hospital? Should I just wait it out?
Breast pain is known as mastalgia. Breast pain can increase during menstruation. I suggest you consult a surgeon and to get breast ultrasound after consulting your doctor. Enlarged spleen can occur in the number of conditions like portal hypertension, hematological disorders, malignancy etc. I suggest you consult a physician for clinical assessment and relevant investigations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
