General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, as very well known, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is not curative and only supportive measures would be advisable:
- Use of bronchi dilator through inhalation puffs which may be of pratropium or others
- Medications of bronchi dilator purpose as deriphyllin or other
- Corticosteroids use in case of acute inflammation which may be again of inhaler or oral route purpose
- Mucolytic drugs in case of acute congestion
- Deep breathing exercises
- Use of face mask wisely when exposure to atmospheric pollen or contaminants
- Eat healthy for best immunity
- Regular aerobics as per advise of your physician
- Chest physiotherapy
- Immediate and prompt treatment of any respiratory tract infection, fever or else systemic problem
- Control of blood sugar and blood pressure levels
- Strict avoidance of active and passive smoking if involved.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
