Suggest Treatment For Breathing Discomfort In A Child
my daughter had bronchital asthma when she was very young.[ 6 yrs of age] now she is 15 years. currently she is having fluid generation and complains of the same even if she has cold she is having breathing discomfort what medication do you suggest?
Your daughter's cold and breathing discomfort could be due to upper respiratory infection with asthamtic bronchitis or pneumonia since she has fluid generation but it should be further investigated by appropriate blood tests and chest X-ray scans.
You should take advise from physician (15 years now) regarding her breathing issue.
She will require oral antibiotics (to prevent super infection in viral infection) with antihistamines in oral formulations.
Now,if she has been diagnosed with bronchial asthma already then she would require broncho-dilators like beta agonists and anti-cholinergics in MDI.
Nebulization with broncho-dilators respules like duolin or asthalin will also be helpful.
In addition, antihistamines and mast cell stabilizers are also have a useful in the treatment of asthma but for all this treatment you must see pediatrician as I said above.
Hope this helps.
