Suggest Treatment For Breathing Trouble, Fatigue And Numbness In The Arms
My 14 year old son started having trouble breathing during football practice and his heart rate was 154 for over 30 minutes before I got the call he needed to go to the ER. He was very lethargic and became numb on the left side of his body and right arm. He don t remember much about it and repeats things and doesn t realize it. I ve had him to 3 different doctors and 2 hospitals but nobody seems to be able to find anything. They have done chest xrays but no broken ribs and lungs are clear. I don t know what else to do.
Since there are no broken ribs & X-Ray shows clear lungs but he shows symptoms of numbness on the left side you should get Nerve Conduction tests(Neurologist) done.
You should also get him a cardiac checkup done to rule out any congenital heart disease. Earlier the diagnosis, the better to treat.

Suggest Treatment For Breathing Trouble, Fatigue And Numbness In The Arms
Hello, Since there are no broken ribs & X-Ray shows clear lungs but he shows symptoms of numbness on the left side you should get Nerve Conduction tests(Neurologist) done. You should also get him a cardiac checkup done to rule out any congenital heart disease. Earlier the diagnosis, the better to treat. However, it could be a generalized anxiety disorder or a panic attack. He may need the help of a Physiotherapist & Counselor. Your son needs rest. Help him relax, keep him well hydrated & well fed. Help him stay away from stress & anxiety. Avoid addictions if any. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
