Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain if your daughter's
root canal treatment is complete then even if crown is not given the
dentist fills the tooth cavity with the permanent filling material and no cotton or temporary filling is placed after the treatment is complete..
Cotton can lead to a source of infection if it is present in the tooth and can cause treatment failure by causing re-infection..
The other thing is that if your daughter do not have pain or discomfort in the tooth you should go to the dentist and get an
x ray done and if the filling in the root canal is intact with no signs of infection you should at-least get a permanent filling done if you do not want a crown although crown is advisable..
In case if the cotton was bloody when removed there can be re infection in the tooth and a short course antibiotics can at times cure minor infections but if it does not cure repetition of the treatment has to be done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
