Hi,

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes, which are the air passages that carry air to the lungs. It is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection, and symptoms include coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. A sore throat can also be a symptom of bronchitis, as well as fever.

The antibiotics prescribed by your doctor, Augmentin, can help to treat the bacterial infection that may have caused bronchitis. Bisolvon is a cough medicine that can help to relieve coughing by breaking up mucus in the lungs. Panadol (acetaminophen) can help to reduce fever and relieve pain.

In addition to the medications prescribed by your doctor, there are some home remedies and lifestyle changes that may help to alleviate your symptoms and speed up recovery. These include:
* Rest: Rest is important as this can reduce fatigue and help the body fight off the infection.
* Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, such as water and herbal tea, to keep your body hydrated and help loosen mucus.
* Use a humidifier: Adding moisture to the air can help to relieve congestion and soothe a sore throat.
* Avoid irritants: Avoid exposure to irritants such as smoke, dust, and chemical fumes, which can aggravate bronchitis symptoms.
* Quit smoking: Smoking can worsen bronchitis symptoms and delay recovery, so quitting smoking can help to speed up recovery.

If your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment, it is important to follow up with your doctor. They may recommend further testing or a referral to a specialist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
