Suggest Treatment For Brown Freckles And Spots On The Skin

I used to work for a dermatologist so my brother comes to me with a lot of questions in regards to his skin and moles. He recently developed patches of brown freckles and spots, similar to melasma and thw patches of freckles on his calves. He fears it is petechiea, I don t feel it is that serious. Could it be something else that comes with age like melasma? He currently takes lisinopril for high blood pressure, is overweight for his age at 41, and has worked in the plum, bing industry for years.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be a side effect of lisinopril. Also check for diabetes. Its nothing serious. A mild skin lightener like arbutin and steroid like clobetasol will help and he will be fine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ankit
