Suggest Treatment For Bruise On Right Hip

my right hip feels bruised on the outside, but it hurts in the joint area to walk. it at times feels like it is slipping out~if that makes any sense. the area is tender to touch from the outside going towards the buttocks. the surrounds area that is tender is an oval shape about 12 inch long and 7 inches wide. i have never felt this type of pain before.
