Suggest Treatment For Bruise On The Back Of The Lower Leg
I bruised the back of my lower leg by closing the car door on Tuesday. This morning I woke up with my ankle hurting and the area was all red. Called my on call doctor who told me to go to minor care. The doctor said it was infected. Gave me a strong antibiotic shot plus a tetanus shot. Also prescribed me with doxycycline. My question is what can I put if anything on my lower leg for the pain that is from the bruised area down to my ankle? I have been putting ice on it.

Your symptoms seem to be related to an infected bruise. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication to relieve the pain.
I also recommend using ice compresses in the area. I recommend using a vitamin K cream for local application.
