General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you have bruise in the lumbar area, you are suggested not to sleep on your back. Sleep on your sides. Be careful while taking bath or shower. You should apply cold compress on the area affected several times a day. For relief, apply ointment Thrombophob locally gently. Do not rub or massage. It should go away in a few days.

Bruises occur due to nutritional deficiencies and anemia. You are suggested to take calcium, iron and protein rich diet. Avoid addictions if any. Take vitamin C to help improve thin skin and collagen level. Get clinically examined to rule out any injuries, bone spurs, slip disc issues or spinal cord problems. Get imaging tests done. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
