Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been diagnosed with a bruised ear canal. My ear drum is not damaged and my ear looks fine to the doctor except for the swelling in the canal. My ear feels very full even though the doctor says its clear. I cannot hear out of the affected ear. Should I worry that this problem will not get better?
According to my knowledge if your ear drum is fine, you don’t have to worry. Bruised ear canals can take up to 4 weeks to recover. I would advise you to just wait and be patient, take analgesics for the pain and hopefully your hearing and ear canal will get better in a few weeks.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
