Suggest Treatment For Bruised Hip Bone And Leg Caused By An Injury
I had a fall down the stairs on the morning of the 23rd June 2016. I have two very nasty bruises one on my hip bone and the other on the outside of my lowere leg. The bruise are down to my toes on my leg and there is a fair amount of swelling and a lump around the hit area on my leg. I m away at present. I put ice on straight away and have done so a few times since. It is still painful.
Your symptoms might be due to a sudden fall. Underlying causes might be fracture, Joint sprain, ligament injury or superficial injury, etc.
I advise you to
- Analgesics (Acetaminophen) twice & tab. Seropeptidase thrice daily
- Take any antacid along with each dose
- Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin as they might slow down the healing process
- Bed rest & don't overstrain the affected area
- Ice pack to relieved of pain & swelling
- Elevate the foot end of the affected leg
- Check Xray of hip, knee joint & both legs to rule out fracture if any.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
