General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. As you have lump and bruising better to have a X ray on 2 projections to rule out fracture. Keep your hand immobilized in splint. You can do ice pack application locally. NSAIDs like ibuprofen can be taken for pain also. It is better to consult an orthopedician to rule out fracture. If fracture is absent in X ray then it can be due to haematoma. In such case ice pack application will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
