Suggest Treatment For Bruising And Pain In The Navel Area
Hi - my daughter (9) slipped in the bath and landed on the edge across her tummy. This happened about 3 hours ago and she says it still really hurts and she feels sick. I have given her some Nurofen but it doesn t seem to be helping much. There isn t a red mark or any bruising but I m not sure if it isn t a little swollen across her tummy below her tummy button. Should I be concerned or is it just sore from where she feel? Any advice would be grateful received. Many thanks

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bruising and pain in the navel area. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like urinary tract infection , stomach infections , food poisoning , hernia , pancreas , ulcers or appendicitis. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , ultrasound along with endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory , omeprazole or doctor may recommend surgery in appendicitis and gallstone . Doctor may also refer you to urologist for UTI . For now eat light and non spicy , also eat small and frequent meals . For pain take ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
