Hi, I noticed what seemed a moldy painful bruise at the top inside of my buttocks. I woke up this morning in a lot of pain and could barely walk. I took a loratab to move about but the swelling seems to be worse and now it's a very sharp pain and a lump has formed. What could this be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bruising on the buttocks. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like trauma , coagulopathy , anticoagulant medications , mongolian spot , local infection or hematoma . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses , keep the site clean and dry , apply over the counter antibiotics ointment and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen rfor pain . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may drain the hematoma , prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin oe antifungal depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
