Suggest Treatment For Bruising On The Shins

I have bruises on my shins that are over 1+ years old, from bumping into our wood bed frame, that were faded to a pale brown and now one looks red today. I also have a 1 month old bruise on my other shin that was fading and now is reddish again and hard underneath. I ve always bruised easily, and take longer to heal, but should I be concerned? I m 43 yes old, pregnant with #2, am 5 8 and weigh 300 lbs. I have no health ailments otherwise. Thanks.

Hello,

You have bruises on your shins, on the other shin the bruise has hardened. You get easily bruised & take a longer time to heal. Presently you are pregnant. Since you are pregnant you should be more careful with yourself. Use good lighting at home so that you don't bump here and there, don't keep home untidy & be careful on the steps.

Arrange furniture and electrical cords so that they're not in your way when you walk. To be on the safer side get your vision tested. Side effect of certain medications also cause easy bruising, be careful what medicines you take. Ginkgo can increase your bruising risk due to a blood-thinning effect. Stay away from it.

However, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, to detect / rule out factors that may cause easy bruising like vitamin K deficiency, bleeding disorders (hemophilia, vasculitis, leukemia, abnormally functioning platelets, problems with proteins that help the blood clot, etc). You can apply Ointment Thrombophob on the bruised area for relieve. Get clinically assessed. You will be treated according to the pathology detected.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
