Suggest Treatment For Bruising On Toe After Injury
I stubbed my big toe very hard on a wooden pier 1 1/2 weeks ago. It is still very painful and I cannot bear any weight on it. It is only slightly swollen and never turned blue or bruised looking. The top of my foot also feels injured in that it has a numbing sensation. If I turn my foot a certain, something pops in the top of my foot. at times, my toe feels like it is being strangled with a tight band with pain coming to the top under my toenail. Should I see my regular physician or go to a podiatrist?
Pain, swelling and bruising of toe is probably due to trauma caused on toe. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider to get X-ray of foot to rule out fracture. If there is open wound, bandaging will be required. Swelling due to soft tissue injury will resolve within few days. You may tale pain killers for pain and hot fomentation for swelling.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
