Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I had what I thought was some sort of bug bite on my forearm. It was a definitive circle, with a hard round outer red circle around it, for a few days. Then the outer circle disappeared and the pencil eraser size bite was still there. Went to the dr and he said it s a spider bite. The inner circle now looks like a cigarette burn. The circle has popped and bled a bit. It s been over a week and I m a little more concerned that perhaps it wasn t a bug bite to begin with. I live in AZ and could have easily been bitten by something poisonous r.....do I go back to the dr or just wait this out more?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A circular lesion on forearm and a history of bugs in your area is quite suggestive of a bug bite. Bug bites are managed by anti-histaminic drugs. Anti-histaminic drugs inhibit the inflammatory reaction at the site of lesion and also relieve symptoms of itching and irritation. I suggest you to consult your doctor for prescription of anti-histaminic drug.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
