Suggest Treatment For Bug Bite

Hi,
I returned from a week in Puerto Vallarta 3 days ago. Since the day I left and continuing through today, I have experienced random appearance of what seem to be bug bites that itch like crazy for up to 24 hours. I walked the beach but did not lay in the sand. I was staying in a villa with 15 others and no on else seems to be experiencing the same thing.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that appearance of random bug bites along with severe itching and also walking on the beach can be due to mite infestation causing a condition known as Scabies..
It seems to be most probable cause..
While other cause can be allergic reaction to some unknown allergen..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist or Infectious Medicine Specialist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood test can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case of Scabies topical lotion containing Premethrin and oral intake of Ivermectin can be advised..
You can also be advised oral anti allergics like Levocetrizine to relieve itching..

In case if it is due to allergic reaction, blood tests to rule out the cause of allergic reaction has to be done and avoiding exposure to allergen and taking anti allergic medicines and steroids will help..
Topical application of steroid ointments, cool compresses will help..
Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
