Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation In The Scalp Caused By Magic Eraser

Hi I dyed my hair earlier and there was hair dye stains on my head so my suggested that we use a magic eraser cleaning product and she started scrubbing really hard on my hair where the dye stains were and I felt severe burning and I tried to get it off and use lotion and water it still really burned. Its been about 3 hours now and the burning has not stopped but it has decreased and my skin is red. Can you tell me if I need to do anything about it because the water and ice have not helped and Im not sure if I have a chemical burn or not.

Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you kay be suffering from chemical burn secondary to the magic eraser you used.

You need to consult your dermatologist for that and try using over the counter burn creams meanwhile.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
