Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation In The Vagina

I have currently had a UTI and have been on cipro for a week and ustel for it. The problem I am having is severe vaginal burning and itching. I have been using vagasil and it relieves me for 30-45 minutes and then I am burning again. I do not think it is yeast because there is no discharge at all. Is there anything else I can get OTC. I am desperate for relief that last more than 30 minutes.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per your symptoms, I feel you have a vaginal infection which is leading to itching and burning sensation. The medication you are using doesn't contain any antibiotic or antifungal properties and is only relieving symptoms without curing the underlying disease. I would advise you to get yourself examined for the type of infection and then start medication accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
