Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My child just swallowed a candy and she is saying its still there and doesn t stop crying? Is it he irritation in her throat for all the coughing she was making? She even threw up liquid when I told her to drink water so it can make it easier for the candy to go down her throat..
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of candy stuck in throat which is acting as foreign body there and can cause entrapment of bacteria and can cause blockage. I would suggest you to avoid eating and drinking acidic , spicy and hot food and beverages . Do warm saline gargles. . If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and go for swab test. Go for sputum test as well if required and start treatment as per proper diagnosis. Sip warm water after every few minutes. Doctor may also examine with laryngoscope to rule out any foreign substance of food particle . Doctor may remove if there is anything surgically under local anesthesia .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
