Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain ulcer over the gum and cheek after
wisdom tooth extraction can be either Canker sores or can be traumatic ulcers caused by injury to the mucosa with extraction instrument..
The swelling over cheek was due to inflammation of the soft tissues which is a common occurrence after any surgical procedure and will completely subside gradually..
The ulcers being so painful needs a serious medical attention and you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated that such a
sharp pain is originating from the ulcers itself or it is related to extraction socket as unhealed socket can also cause a
severe pain leading to a condition known as
DRY SOCKET..
For ulcers as nothing is providing relief a Steroid course like
Prednisone twice daily for 5 days is needed..
Apply a combination of steroid and numbing gel like Kenalog in Orabase as it will reduce inflammation and also numb the ulcers leading to pain relief..
Sucking ice pops and cold water gargles will help..
Maintain a good
Oral hygiene as it helps in prevention of infection..
Avoid hot,spicy and acidic foods..
Take a higher painkiller like Ultram (
Tramadol)..
Hope this information helps..
