Suggest Treatment For Cell Tumour Of The Tendon Sheath On The Finger
Hi I have a giant cell tumour of the tendon sheath on the index finger on my knuckle is rather large now and have multiple lumps all formed into one big one over the knuckle and over last 6 months I have 2 more seperate lumps one in between my middle finger and index beside the main tumour and another bit further up the tendon sheath but are now growing closer together as the main lump grows more lobs off of it towards i have been referred for surgery but not really been told wat to expect in how it may affect me or how long I may be in hospital the main lump I think they mentioned they may not have enough skin to stick back up as has taken up a lot of the area how long do you think I may be in hospital for do you think a day surgery or is it common to be in for longer also has been biopsy taken and came back as benign but a granuloma annulare but orthopaedic specialist said it was not that as was on my tendon sheath and has muscle tissue and blood flow from ultrasound so waiting on my surgery appointment now but wasn t any info on to wat to expect and also how long il be off work ect
Though it is very vital to consider the physical examination of the patient to comment for queries related to a surgical branch, here are my salient guidelines: - Treatment consist of surgical excision only and there is no medicinal cure for this issue - Surgery can be a day care if it is of medium size or if prolonged duration when larger size when extensive dissection and prolong anesthesia is required, one or couple of days stay might be demand of time. - So far as return to work is concerned, you can resume work after 2-3 days of surgery if it is not consisting use of the same hand. If it is not so, then you have to wait till the period of stitches removal and complete wound healing (around 2 weeks average)
