Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been diagnosed with cervical dystonia and have had botox but didn t work. Am getting more botox when injected botox is dispersed into targeted muscle spasms. Hoping this will work. But I have developed a sort of numb/tingly lips and left side of cheek bones. Do you think this is all related?
Cervical dystonia is a rare neurological disorder that originates in the brain. It causes discomfort, pain & affects the quality of life.
Since you are developing numbness in the lips, cheeks & left side you are suggested to visit your treating doctor immediately. You need an X-Ray & MRI done.
Neglect will cause more injury & damage to the central nervous system, leading to complications like impaired speech & walking difficulties.
Get physically examined & evaluated by an orthopedic & a neurologist. Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected.
You may need medicines, help from physical & occupational therapists & surgery if required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
